Arrows Down releases new track Smooth Song Of The Adulteress
Fresh from touring on Tinie Tempah’s 'Disc'Overy Tour', and collaborating with Sasha, G-FrSH and Amplify Dot amongst others, Arrows Down aka Tom Cameron, mutli talented songwriter, producer, guitarist, keyboard player and vocalist, not to mention multifaceted visual artist and director (including of his own promos) releases for free download this Thursday 31st October his brand new track, 'Smooth Tongue Of The Adulteress', complete with self directed accompanying video taken from his forthcoming new album due for release in 2014.
Focussing on the often uncontrollable submission to the intrigue of a forbidden fruit and the song takes words from a stumbled upon old Biblical Proverb:
When you lie down, they will watch over you;
And when you awake, they will talk with you.
23 For the commandment is a lamp and the teaching a light,
And the reproofs of discipline are the way of life,
24 To preserve you from the evil woman,
From the smooth tongue of the adulteress
Sonically, Tom's influences range from pretty much anything on Nick Drake's 'Five Leaves Left', mixed with Indian drone 60's vibes and also some 90's alternative experimental music. All the good stuff.
Tom says of the track, "Everything you hear on the forthcoming record was done in three takes - anyone who came to the session got three takes to nail their parts, I wanted the overall sound of the acoustic tracks on the album to sound very raw and exposed so we set up an amp and turned up the gain, stuck a mic on it and just recorded the fuzz coming from the valves to add air to the piece.The drum break in the track is actually me beatboxing through a distortion pedal, which we then chucked through a randomizer and again literally chose the best random result we got out of three."
The Smooth Tongue Of The Adulteress is available for free download this Thursday 31st October.
