Sienna Confirmed for Liverpool Sound City 2014

Sienna today have been announced to perform at the upcoming Liverpool Sound City lineup on Saturday May 3rd playing the headline slot at Studio 2 on Parr Street. Alongside this further dates have been announced in Scotland including Nice and Sleazy in Glasgow on 7th May, The Beat Club in Gourock on 8th May, as well as the main support for Scouting For Girls Perth Concert Hall on 30th May.

The dates follow the upcoming release of Wandering Star due April 27th, an evocative track demonstrating their signature upbeat rootsy playful nature.  Clear are the influences across the spectrum from singer songwriters such as Ryan Adams, Laura Marling, Bob Dylan, Van Morrison and Neil Young to the 60’s rock and roll of The Beatles, with a songwriting maturity that defies their teenage years. The track has been receiving strong support from John Kennedy at XFM.

Since forming in Summer 2012, six-piece Sienna have been quietly making quite a noise in their native Scotland. From Kinross, known to most as home of T In The Park – they are the first band from their hometown to have performed at the legendary festival, where they packed out the T Break tent (a feat unheard of for an unsigned band), following in the footsteps of fellow Scots Biffy Clyro.

Their debut EP “Give Me Your Love” released last year received vital support from Amazing Radio and In:Demand Scotland whilst they sold out Glasgow’s King Tut’s twice and also supported Nina Nesbitt. The band also performed at This Feeling Club Night in London as well as a having their first headline show at Camden’s Proud Galleries.

Sienna consist of singer/songwriter Danny McAtear, multi-instrumentalist Ross Mathieson, guitarist/songwriter Andy Clarke, Ben Watt on bass, and Calum Anderson on drums, with Ian Dunnett on sax.
